Hosted by Brazil's National Movement of Waste Pickers (MNCR) and the Cata Saúde online capacity-building project, these webinars provided a platform to share the experiences of the OSF WIEGO Brazil project; discuss actions taken to deal with COVID-19 in different countries; and, above all, to strengthen the bonds of solidarity on the continent among different movements of waste pickers and between them and their non-organized counterparts.
July 6:
The first two-hour meeting included a discussion of the OSF Brazil Cata -Saúde project and MNCR secretariat support and included a presentation about RedLacre.
July 13:
The second two-hour meeting focused on sharing experiences of joint ventures of organized and non-organized waste pickers from countries including Argentina, Colombia and Brazil.
