Understanding the Cost-Of-Living Crisis and Building a Global Workers’ Struggle for Economic Justice
This comic book captures discussions from online workshops held with workers from Accra, Ghana, and Bangkok, Thailand, in November 2024 for continued learning and discussion among all workers.
We hope these materials will help workers to:
- Share experiences of the effects of rising electricity, food and transport costs.
- Make sense of what is the root cause of the high cost of living.
- Organize to challenge and change the system of economic inequality.
How to use the material:
- Read the comic book with members of your organization or other workers and discuss what you see in the illustrations.
- Are your experiences the same or different from those of the workers in the illustrations?
- What are you learning from these materials about:
- Who decides the cost of things you need to live a decent, healthy life?
- Who benefits from the high costs of food, electricity and transport?
- Who suffers the most because of the high cost of living?
- Discuss what you see in the illustrations about coming together and organizing. How can you use this way of organizing and mobilizing where you work and live?
