Women-Led Climate Resilient Futures: Solutions from Mahila Housing Trust
This publication documents 40 community-driven climate resilience interventions designed and implemented by the Mahila Housing Trust (MHT) in collaboration with women informal workers across India. Supported by WIEGO and City Collab, the research highlights how women are co-creating solutions to address extreme heat, water stress, urban flooding, air pollution, and energy access while strengthening livelihoods and advancing social protection. The report organizes interventions into eight dimensions of resilience and provides evidence-based pathways for integrating workers’ needs into national and municipal climate policies. It stands as a blueprint for inclusive, gender-responsive, and worker-centered climate action in urban settings.
