The Poor Shall Not Remain Small: Broadening Access of the Organized Poor to the Market by Means of Strengthening NPOs Through Constitutional Justice (The Case of the ARB-Colombia)
The paper analyzes the role of the Asociacion de Recicladores de Bogota (ARB), a non-profit organization formed by waste recyclers in Colombia, in gaining access to formal waste management markets. Highlighting the systemic challenges faced by informal waste recyclers, the author explores how constitutional justice can facilitate their integration into the market, emphasizing the importance of legal recognition and support for marginalized communities. The paper advocates for policies that strengthen NPOs to improve the livelihoods of the poor, thereby addressing both social and environmental concerns.
