No Worker Left Behind: A Stronger ILO Convention for Decent Work in the Platform Economy

By on

Signed by a global coalition of over 30 worker organizations, trade unions, and civil society groups, this joint statement calls on the International Labour Organization to strengthen its proposed Convention on Decent Work in the Platform Economy, being negotiated at the 114th session of the International Labour Conference. It urges the Convention to apply to all platform workers, regardless of employment status, and to include gender-responsive protections, occupational safety and health measures, fair compensation for all working time, transparency in algorithmic management and data governance, protections against shifting work-related costs onto workers, and guarantees for worker consultation and collective bargaining rights.
