WIEGO-COPRED Press Conference

Mexico City, Mexico

On Monday, 6 May 2019, WIEGO and COPRED  hosted a press conference in Mexico City where they released a document that includes a series of demands from workers - a direct result of mesas which were held in late February.

COPRED and WIEGO will be launching a photo-video campaign which highlights informal work in Mexico City during this event.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to view a photo exhibition at the end of the event. The photo-video campaign, as well as the photo exhibition, will seek to highlight the  discrimination issues faced by informal workers in Mexico City and offers the ideal platform to promote and dignify informal work in general.

Workers from different occupational groups including un-salaried workers (shoe shiners, trovador and norteño musicians, organilleros, magazine sellers, artisans, coffee vendors); street vendors (tianguistas); and waste pickers will be in attendance.
