Street Vendors’ Laws and Legal Issues in South Africa

Street vendors have few legal protections in South Africa. As they are not employees the basic rights of labour law do not apply to them even in a formal sense. This resource argues that the non-labour regulation under which they operate is often inappropriate to their situation and/or improperly applied,often leading to harassment.
