"Progress of the World’s Women 2015–2016” brings together human rights and economic policymaking, and provides the key elements for a far-reaching new policy agenda that can transform economies and make women’s rights a reality. Through solid in-depth analysis and data, this evidence-based report provides key recommendations on moving towards an economy that truly works for women, for the benefit of all.

The report takes a close look at what the economy would look like if it were truly effective for women, to the benefit of all.

Furthermore, the report reflects how the alternative economic agenda it describes would not only create fairer societies, but also generate new employment sectors, for example, in the care economy. The report comes at a time when the international community is coming together to define a transformative new agenda for sustainable development, and comes 20 years after the historic Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing, China, which set out a series of ambitious goals to promote gender equality."
