Child Care Initiative Strategic Workshop

The goal of the Child Care Initiative Strategic Workshop was to determine the future direction of WIEGO's Child Care Initiative. Through this initiative WIEGO hoped to raise the visibility of childcare as an essential component of social protection for informal workers and to better understand the impact childcare has on women's economic empowerment. WIEGO conducted research with informal worker organizations about child care issues. This research, as well as a literature review and a scoping of the main actors involved in these issues globally, provided the basis for discussions at the Workshop.
